6-11 players will attempt to brave the high seas on their way to the mainland, each with a hidden allegiance. Some are sailors seeking to complete their journey, others seek to steer the ship to the pirates at Crimson Cove, and still others have more nefarious plans as cultists in service of the great, ancient Kraken. Players take turns being officers of the ship, but risk mutiny if their decisions anger the rest of the crew. Cultists will attempt to recruit new members, allegiances will be questioned, punishments administered, and powerful abilities revealed. Along the journey, an encounter with the Kraken will be inevitable. A sacrifice will be made to appease it, but if the Cult Leader is sacrificed, the cultists will win!
